Artist Tootie Stark

Tootie has been painting a long time. She works in a variety of mediums: drawing, watercolor, oil, acrylic, and china painting. Impressionist, surrealist and experimental abstract painting are also areas that she enjoys.

Tootie studied art education at Buffalo State College and the University of Buffalo. She taught art at a private school in Buffalo, New York for many years until she retired. Throughout the years, she has participated in two to three week intensive workshops with nationally recognized artists, in both the US and Canada.

When Tootie moved into Herons Glen in 2003, she became active participant, in workshops and as an instructor, in the Artist Group. She has won numerous awards for her works.

As a teacher, she believes, "Don’t stress yourself, enjoy what you are doing. It’s the process not the product in the learning process." Whether teaching the class or participating in a class, Tootie has fun!
