Our Story

      Twenty five years ago, there was a need to provide community residents with an artistic outlet. Gary Olson, Terry Taylor, Jean Purins and Art Williams founded the Herons Glen Artist Group. The goal has been to provide opportunities for residents learn more about various art forms by way of classes and workshops. Some of the instructors who have shared their talents with the Group are Terry Madden, Tom Lynch, Pat Weaver, Tom Jones, Joy Moon, Marie Natale, Bob Fagan, Joan Roberts, Betty Wedeles, Joan Piel Joy, Patty Sole, Dee Fugere, Tootie Stark, Bridget Austen, Alice Seeley, and Erma Jean Woodis. The Group also wanted to provide the opportunity for resident artists to display their artwork in shows and exhibits within the community. In addition, members of the Artist Group have provided the community with beautiful murals around Herons Glen. Below are a few examples of what the Group has accomplished over the past 25 years.
